How many of you arrive on Weds? What time do you usually get there and when is the latest you can arrive on Weds? I've been wanting to do that for years but never had the opportunity and I'm hoping this year might be it. So any info would be awesome!

Tue, May 5, 2009 - 4:21 PMI usually try to arrive around sundown/late afternoon on Wednesday. Gives me plenty of time to enjoy the scenic 80>89 high country route, stop by Quincy's health food store for a quick dinner to go (for eating in the parking lot queue) and find friends before it's totally dark.
I really think getting there on Wednesday is the way to go, since Thursday's so busy with load-in, camp set up and gettin' your festival on - no need to bog down oneself with the drive to Quincy, too!
Do be advised that if you have your festy ticket AND a vehicle pass, it still costs $20 to spend the night in the Wednesday night queue. (I think the same goes for the will-call line/lot.) Also advisable to bring some extra TP 'cause the port-a-potties get pretty busy in the morning and sometimes run outta paper (although they were much better maintained last year). -

No need to apologize, The Great Cornholio is the funniest cartoon bit Mike Judge ever came up with. I say cartoon bit, of course, because there are funnier bits in Office Space.
And for some on topic content, I would say the best way to arrive, is to work on one of the crews and get inside Wednesday night (or Tuesday, depending on the crew). Nothing quite like kicking back Thursday morning watching people scramble for space, while all your stuff is already set up. ;-)

HOWEVER, more importantly than TP, DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT on the way to the fest! The cops are real jerks on the road, will pull you over for tailgating or anything, even 5 miles over the limit, so be aware and get to the fest without having to pay a ticket or have your car searched! -

i'll be there wednesday again. hope things are the same as last year so i'm not confused. every year seems to be set up completely differently and no one on the staff knows the answers to any questions. the only part of hsmf that has ever repeatedly bothered me.
